Want An Easy Way To Keep Your Dog Happy And Healthy In Less Than 10 Minutes A Day?
According to a 2012 survey conducted by the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, 53% of adult dogs were classified as overweight or obese by their veterinarian. In addition to the health concerns, many experts say that lack of exercise is a leading cause of hyperactive and destructive behavior in dogs.
As the owner of two beloved pit bull dogs, I'm always looking for ways to keep them well exercised. My busy schedule doesn't allow for the long walks recommended by professional dog behaviorists. I read about something called a flirt pole and thought it would be worth trying out. It works by converting the natural prey drive instinct in dogs into exercise as they attempt to catch the lure by sprinting, changing direction, and jumping.
So I bought one of the fiberglass rod flirt poles that are made in China. The good news is the dogs went crazy chasing the lure. The bad news is it lasted one day. One chomp on the tip of the rod and the fiberglass broke and splintered in my dog's mouth. I was angry and decided to design my own.
Sure, you can make a simple DIY flirt pole following instructions online. But I didn't want a simple flirt pole, I wanted the best flirt pole possible. So I developed the Squishy Face Studio Flirt Pole, which I truly believe is the ultimate dog exercise toy for busy people. Our Flirt Poles are made in the USA using components tested for durability, strength, safety and light weight.
Here are some features that make our Flirt Pole V2 the best:
- The only flirt pole on the market that uses bungee cord to prevent “whiplash” when lure is caught
- Perfect for people with limited mobility
- Our tough dog toys can be used with dogs of any size
- Also works great as a training tool and provides the mental exercise dogs need
- Regular size flirt pole has a 36” pole section and 52” cord
- Jr size available for smaller play areas with 24" pole and 42" cord
- Includes your choice of durable braided fleece lures in two color combinations, with or without squeaker
- Easily change lures without the use of fasteners that can injure your dog's mouth
- Lightweight. The Flirt Pole with the included lure weighs less than one pound
- Soft, non-slip grip and wrist strap for easy handling
Imagine a quiet evening at home after a long, grueling day at work. The only sound you hear is an occasional “snort, snort” and the muffled “fruff, fruff, fruff” of dream barking. Your furry best friend is sleeping like a log, tuckered out from playing with the Flirt Pole. You are relaxed too. Comforted knowing you are helping your four-legged family stay happy and healthy while still having time to put your aching feet up and let your body soak into soft cushions. This could be your night too!

New favorite toy

My dog loves this and is a well behaved boy now that he is tuckered out. The only down side is that he loves this so much that I have to put it up and out of his reach when we are done playing.
Good toy for energetic dog

My almost 6 mo. old lab loves it....she has so much energy and I need something besides walking and bike riding to get some of that energy out and it's fun for her. It also speaks to her hunting instincts. I gave it 4 stars because I wish the pole was longer...and nothing is perfects.
Most favorite toy.

My dog thinks this is the only toy worth having. He is a pointer and takes great delight in "pointing" the "critter" when it is on the ground. Ten minutes with this and he is exhausted for several hours. Think part of the exhaustion is the mental work in locking a point on the "critter".
Only negative is that the rubber cup holding the bungee cord wears over time and eventually breaks. Have to realize that I do use it daily and a lot. Was without one for about 4 days and it was a major crisis!
Very sturdy and safe

Flirt poles are one of my options to teach impulse control to highly excitable canine clients. I love the Squishy face flirt pole as I can rely on it to hold up to even the most powerful, excited dog.
It is important to my business that the items I choose to offer for sale are high quality, and worth the money spent. Squishy Face flirt poles meet my high standards, and all of my clients love them!
Flirt Pole V2 is Great!

Our pitty LOVES this toy! At first, I was skeptical with how powerful of a chewer she was and how she destroys every toy we get for her, but the quality of this is mind blowing! We had our first one for 2 years before she finally got the best of it and we then ordered a second one! She plays for hours with this!
More fun than chasing the landscapers
Posted by Rachelle on 19th May 2016
My high drive, reactive, doggie-daycare expelled doberman will work for this toy. He plays frisbee and fetches balls but nothing holds his attention like his squishy face flirt pole. When the neighbors landscapers are working on the other side of the fence, formerly an irresistible game of "just how sure are you that fence will keep you safe?", I can redirect Gustav's attention with the presence of the pole alone. Actively playing with it is the best, but he finds it so rewarding that even the possibility of playing with it is worth passing up on delicious mischief. He has to watch when I put it away in the shed when we are done or else he won't release hope that there is another round to be had. Absolutely the best training currency I have for a difficult high energy dog.

Love these Products, the only thing my Dogs love more than the Super Tug is the Squishy Face Studios Flirt Pole. They would play it all day if you let them. ( Make sure to give plenty of breathers in between play sessions and water.)
My dog's face squishes to new heights!

Love this toy, great exercise for both of us. Sturdy and holding up to the tug when my small horse catches it!
Best way to exercise pit bull-type dogs!

We absolutely love these poles and have not only used them for our dogs and our fosters, but also for dogs at the rescues we volunteer for. Great for incorporating impulse control training into fun playtime and it really helps to keep the dogs fit!
Best Toy I Have Ever Bought
Posted by Megan on 1st Feb 2016
I love this product. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best thing I have ever bought. I have a pitbull/rottweiler mix whose two years old named Penny. She's strong, energetic and loving. I got her one when she was about 4 months old. The first lasted until recently when the rubber band finally wore out. I didn't hesitate to buy another. The flirt pole is an amazing training tool that mentally and physically tires out my dog but not me. It creates a positive bond between us, and is endlessly entertaining for both of us. The only thing that could ever make this product better is if the pole was collapsible like a tent pole for easy traveling. We travel a lot and never leave home without it. To me this product is as necessary as giving food and water to my dog. The moments of play with my dog that we've had with this toy are priceless, happy memories. Thank you Squishy Face for making this product available.
Both my dogs and I love our Flirt Poles

I ordered a few Flirt Poles to use in the Impulse Control class I teach. But. before my students use them, I wanted by dogs to test them. I have two Australian shepherds and one border collie. The three are active intense dogs. To say my dogs love their Flirt Pole would be an understatement. It quickly became their favorite toy. And, I love toys that allow me to be a part of my dog's play. It also looks like a substantial, good quality toy that should last for quite a long time. In addition to the Flirt Pole being a wonderful toy, Squishy Face Studio was a pleasure to work with. My order was shipped the day after it was placed and arrived earlier than I expected in perfect condition.
My dog loves this!

When i bring out the flirt toy and we head to the park, he starts whining. He runs to the grass area and lies down quivering to wait for me to start playing. I think he would ignore steak for the flirt toy. It's a bit heavy for me (i have a weak wrist from a break) but i'm getting the hang of manipulating it. Since my dog doesn't go after balls or sticks, this is a great way to tire him out quickly. And did i say he loves it? He loves it!
My dog loves it!

I recently purchased the flirt pole v2 for my 7 month old German Shepherd puppy. I take him on long, brisk walks through our hilly terrain and he never seemed to be completely tired out. I read online about this product and decided I'd try it out. I ordered it and boy does my pup love it! I play with him for 15-20 minute bursts for 5/6 times a day along with walking him and he is so much calmer and really gets his exercise in! He loves this toy and when it is hanging up on the wall, he will sit, stare at it, and whine. It really is a great toy - both physically and mentally stimulating for him. The pole itself is light weight enough to not hurt my wrist which is great. The only downside is the squeaker in my toy didn't last long! But that is minor. Overall, great product that both my dog and I love.
best toy ive ever bought

My dog loves this thing. Its great for play and tiring her high energy self out! It will be part of our regular activities together from here on out. I also am learning how to use it as a training tool. Definitely the best thing I have purchased for my girl. I need to buy the longer one next.

Our 5 year old yellow lab perks up her ears when I get this out. She is interested immediately. I like the variety of movement and activity it provides.

he showed little interest in chasing the pole.
What would we do without it?
Posted by Erin on 27th Jun 2015
I really don't know what we would do without this toy! We have a 1-year-old pitbull mix, and she is so full of energy! This is a quick and easy way for us to help her get out some energy, without expending a lot ourselves. It is by far her favorite toy, and she never gets tired of is (this is our second one, the first lasted about 8 months.... with use 3-4 times daily for 15-20 minutes each).
Good exercise toy

My puppy enjoyed this toy but wouldn't leave the bungee cord alone, so that was a problem. I can see a time when she is older when she will really benefit from it. Even now as I drag the lure on the ground, she does get a good puppy workout.
I either have to get faster or spray the cord with something yucky. Thanks for a well made product.
